A New Foundation
Introducing Les Fondations Olfactives
After several years of building the Private Blend, I wanted to explore perfume from a different angle.
That became Les Fondations Olfactives.
The Private Blend begins with memory.
People. Places. Relationships. Experiences from my own life.
Les Fondations Olfactives begins with perfumery itself.
Structure. Materials. Olfactory families. Texture. Atmosphere.
It gives me room to explore fragrance without every composition needing to belong to a personal chapter.
The first fragrance is Vert Forêt.
Inspired by the Mossy Forest of Cameron Highlands, it explores the atmosphere of Malaysia’s tropical highlands — cool mist, wet leaves, moss, bark, damp earth and living vegetation.
Fresh without becoming aquatic.
Earthy without becoming heavy.
Green without becoming excessively sharp.
From there, the collection continues into different territories through works including Bois Fleur and Mer Ozonique.
Each approaches a different foundation of perfumery through the language of Maison D. Azeez.
Les Fondations Olfactives is not a replacement for the Private Blend.
It is another side of the house.
The Private Blend tells where I came from.
Les Fondations Olfactives gives me room to explore where the perfumery itself can go.
